Key Responsibilities:
This job includes a combination of industry-typical Network Engineering responsibilities for Internet-based, Network, and Infrastructure services.
Specific responsibilities include:
Implement systems and technology: Assess new systems designs and technical strategies. Compose technical implementation collateral from design scenarios and high-level service requirements.
Technical engineering support: Support for the implementation, integration, and evolution of complex systems. Design and maintain support strategies; architect, implement and maintain Service Management and Incident Response tactics.
Analyze system trending: You will provide systems statistical trending and analysis, capacity and threshold testing, and systems maintenance documentation.
Problem Solving: Provide technical expertise for resolving critical production systems issues.
Candidate will also work with other teams or members to troubleshoot complex support issues, identify root causes and develop mitigation options. Your desire to improve, evolve and revolutionize the systems and processes you are exposed to will drive service availability goals.

Must effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks in accordance with high level objectives/projects.

Must have led or played a critical role in migrating a high-availability service to a new data center.
A minimum of 5 years work related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
Current Microsoft, Cisco, and/or Juniper certifications are a plus.
ITIL v3 experience/certification is a plus.
The position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
Networking Skills are essential – Deep understanding of the OSI model and how it applies to Routing, Switching, and Load Balancing.
Working knowledge of network operating system mechanics and how application requests enter and exit the network stack.
Scripting and automation skills/experience are a plus.
Expert knowledge of running and supporting Large-Scale Services and Infrastructure with concentration in performance tuning, live-site management, business continuity concepts.
Strong working knowledge of Load Balancing methods; Global Load Balancing, Layer 4 vs. Layer 7 load balancing
Strong interpersonal skills; written and oral communication as well as strong technical documentation skills are required.
Experience with Virtualization technologies. VMWare and Hyper-V preferred.
Experience with SAN and Direct-Attached storage technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of various network security measures; ACLs, Context-Based Access Controls, firewalls, DDoS prevention.
Working knowledge of how Switches and Routers work.
Strong working knowledge of the following protocols: DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP, Ethernet
Working knowledge of various Application protocols such as; HTTP, HTTPS, NTP, LDAP
Strong working knowledge of IP planning, VLANs, CIDR/VLSM
Strong working knowledge of various networking tools and troubleshooting techniques: netstat, traceroute/pathping, ping, arp, nslookup/dig, route (print), ipconfig, etc.
Strong proven ability to use a protocol analyzer for troubleshooting and traffic analysis.
Ability to analyze protocols and propose optimizations to the use of and/or replacement/modification of protocols.
Understanding of various Interior and Exterior Gateway Routing protocols. (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
